Traffic rules
In Japan cars drive on the left side and people walk on the right side of the road. Bycicles are defined as vehicles and therefore must be driven on the left side of the road. Make sure to follow the traffic rules and traffic lights. If you have to turn right on a bicycle, cross the crosswalk with pedestrians.
Security registration for bicycles
You must complete your bicycle registration when you purchase a bicycle. You can do this at any shop that has a "Bicycle Registration Station" sign posted.
