Drivers License
To drive an automobile or motorcycle in Japan, you must carry an appropriate driver’s license. Always carry your driver's license with you when you drive.
Valid driver's licenses that allow you to drive in Japan
- Driver's license obtained in Japan
- International driver's license issued by a Geneva Convention signatory country＜外部リンク＞
- A foreign driver's license (Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, and Taiwan) with a Japanese translation prepared by a party designated by Japanese government ordinance.
